How does a doctor make a medical diagnosis. The most important part is the history. This is so valuable. In this weeks podcast I begin the discussion on this most important tool that doctors use. Working with your doctor is so important. Doctors have limited time to spend with their patients and is can be easy for a doctor to get overwhelmed by the typically long and intricate medical histories of those with fibromyalgia.
Understand the framework a doctor uses to make diagnoses which starts with the chief complaint, then the history of present illness, review of systems, and other past histories. This is foundational to understanding how a diagnosis is made. Next week I will discuss fibromyalgia-specific symptoms and and tell tale histories.
